fr The bridge 金华桥 [Jinhua qiao] was inaugurated in 1905 and renovated several times since.
The mutiny of February 29, 1912 occured in Beijing but also in Tianjin and Baoding March 1. Spontaneous, it was the work of soldiers whose pay and promised gratuities had not been paid, even though Yuan Shikai had just been elected provisional president of the Chinese Republic.
